In the spirit of catching up:
Here are some Easter pictures from last year. LAST YEAR! (I am NOT pregnant again.) I already mentioned that I'm a year behind.
We hide the Easter candy all over the yard, and the kids hunt for it on Easter morning. It has become our little tradition. We have ways of making sure the kids get equal amounts (or the amount we think they should have).

Oliver LOVED finding candy, and Milo was adorable! The big brothers were great helpers.
Today I was nursing the baby before his nap, and we both fell asleep. I woke some time later, with a start, with this thought in mind: what is happening with your blog? You need to keep a history. Hmm... I've grown so far behind (I think I'm a year behind!), and I've grown more cautious over that last year about what I share...so that resulted in an unintentional lapse. I'm going to try my best to catch up our history , but it will have to be greatly truncated! No better time to start than with the most recent occurrence:

The Canemah Bluff
My heart will always be with this location. It is a park and wilderness area within our little city, and Brent found it shortly after we moved here. We have spent years hiking around this bluff and forest. I have memories here- being pregnant with Elsa, when she was still ALIVE; coming here with the kids shortly after her passing, just trying to keep it together; moving into the lovely house in the neighborhood, where we lived for 1 year; getting our family pictures done; Milo's newborn pictures; and now a spring mama-baby photo shoot. We are going to miss this place after we move away from Oregon.
It was my friend's idea to go and do this photo shoot together. We've been best friends for nearly 6 years, and our recent babies were born 1 day apart. I took pictures of her with her baby, and she took pictures of me with my baby. The Camas Lilies were in bloom, and the pictures turned out lovely:
They are all stunning in black and white too!
Now I have the tough task ahead of deciding which ones to print up!

Surprisingly, I'm not sure where what the official name of this hike is. It is somewhere up past Sandy, Oregon...on the way to Mt. Hood. It is a river trail that follows the bank of the river for several miles and you can go as far (or not) as you want. I'll have to ask Brent when he comes home. So we set out on this very rainy day with no particular destination in mind, and hiked for about 2 miles along this wet, muddy trail.
I just had to include this picture of the boys getting their socks on. I thought it was just too cute that Ollie was doing it by himself (or at least trying).
these two pictures are proof of my undying love for Brent. See, I don't have a particular fondness of mud (although I do LOVE hiking and the outdoors and all things green). So the reason that I slosh through these mud pits time and time again is to give Brent the adventures he craves on his days off, year round, rain or shine. Love you Brent!

nothing brightens up a rainy day hike like those colorful rain slickers and umbrellas!
We were told when we first moved here that we would never be considered true Oregonians if we used umbrellas. I guess we'll never be true Oregonians, despite our love for the place.
Ollie got restless the last little bit of the hike, so Brent let him out and let him finish it on his own.
Apres-hiking restaurant (I have the hardest time spelling that word!) experience was burgers and shakes at Calamity Jane's, which came recommended by many Oregon-native friends (true Oregonians?).

How is it that we've lived in the Portland area for almost 5 years and still haven't been to every botanical garden or park in the area? Well we had another day or two off for spring break (since we had over two weeks total!), so we had the chance to fit in a couple of new adventures. They were cold and rainy adventures...but adventures, nonetheless.

even though the weather felt like winter, the spring flowers were out in abundance. Here we have the lovely Camilla.
Hellbore...ugly name, but one of my favorite shade-lovely flowers (I meant to write shade-loving, but I guess they are shade-lovely too)...and one of the only actual flowers I've ever seen that comes in a shade of green.

and last of all, the lovely Trillium...which was almost Elsa's middle name.
I like nature names. Trillium, Camilla, Salal, Azalea...hmm, I wonder which of these names are on our baby short list? Definitely NOT Hellbore.
