I am SO pleased to announce:
Mr. & Mrs. Carlos and Heather Haehle-Carrasco!
{actually I have to admit that I'm not sure what last name Heather is using...bad sister, huh?}

BEAUTIFUL day for a beautiful wedding!

 the 4 sisters!

The Reception was INCREDIBLE...and SO much fun!  I have never danced to a mariachi band AND danced to Michael Jackson's Thriller with a group of wedding goers all in one night!

with my cousin's youngest daughter--cutie pie!

Mariachi surprise!

The whole clan, including my mom's husbands kids and grandkids!  So much fun!

Carlos' wonderful family...it was SUCH a pleasure to get to know them!

...OR the two AMAZING reasons for being so behind on my blog.

Once again I am SO behind on blogging.  I have a lot of catching up to do in order to document our family's adventures and my thoughts along the way.  I do have TWO very good excuses for being so behind this time...

1) We MOVED!

Surprised???  So are we!  What can I say about the move except that it was unexpected.  We were led to this house.  This was not really our plan right now...but we really felt that this is what God wants us to do right now.  I found this house online and just knew that it was for us.  I felt that knowledge flow through me like a ray of light entering the top of my head and flowing through my whole body.  However, I still wasn't really sure about this move.  The thought of leaving our first home together...the one we shared so many hard but sacred moments, the one we poured heavy labor into (like the time we were laying sod until 1 am in the freezing rain)...it was hard.  But I can say that it has been and will continue to be such a good thing for me and for all of us.  Moving on.  It can be hard, but is cathartic...like a salve for the soul.  And our new house is so full of light.  So much more than our old house.  And light makes me happy.  VERY, very happy.

We love the wild yard and all the birds!
 The views

And the neighborhood peacock!

I'll post more pictures when I am closer to being unpacked and having furniture.

And 2) My sister got married and we took a trip to Utah (in the middle of moving) to go to her wedding!

the lovely couple!
(more on the wedding and trip later)

Oh and...school ended, Toby had a birthday, I trained for a half marathon (running tomorrow!  Happy Independence Day!), and we've had our usual adventures.

Hasta la vista!
Happy summer!

Here's another absurd story to share.  A couple of weeks ago Brent told me on a Thursday that his brother was getting married in Northern California on Sunday.  Brent had to work both Saturday and Monday, but he wanted to drive down for the wedding by himself (as it would be too much driving for all of us in too short of a time).  But we all LOVE Glen and Lizz (whom he unofficially married 5 years ago)...and the boys would not want to miss a chance to see Grandma and Granddad.  So we got in the car at 7 pm Saturday night, drove for 6 hours, stayed in a motel, went to church the next morning, attended the wedding and reception, and drove home 6 hours.  We got home Monday morning at 3 am, and I drove after midnight since Brent was working in the morning.  It took me a whole week to catch up on sleep, but we made it safely.  And the little boys were so happy to see Grandma and Granddad...even though they were very sad that it was only for a day.

We went to Utah over spring break to attend Brent's youngest sister's wedding.  Liz and Jonny have been dating for 6 years (since high school) and we are just SO thrilled that they are finally married.  We are so happy for them!

Beautiful Day:

The brand new Draper Temple
Jonny, Liz with Brent's parents
The beautiful Jefferies sisters
The Jefferies sisters + sisters in law
The whole Jefferies clan minus one brother and a couple of inlaws and plus two cousins
YEP...that's my green dress!
The happy couple

I feel a great depth of gratitude that Brent and I were married in an LDS temple 10.5 years prior.
I am so thankful that because our family is sealed that we will be able to be a family forever...and I know for certain that we will have the chance to raise Elsa.
