a Faraday day

Brent often has weekdays off, and we try to take advantage of that by getting out and doing recreational activities when Joshua's in school and places are not over-crowded.

We took a bike ride on Faraday Road...to which I give an enthusiastic two thumbs up!  It is technically called the Portland General Electric West Hydro-Electric Project Road...just past Estacada.  The best part is that it's closed off to cars, all except for an occasional PGE service vehicle.  And it is a very beautiful, gradual up-hill grade.  We rode about 20 minutes past several reservoirs up to North Fork Reservoir and then we had to fly back down to go get Joshua from school.  Next time I'd like to go farther.

  North Fork Reservoir

Some pictures I snapped as I was cruising back down the road:
LANDSLIDE!!

I let those guys get in front so they could be in the pictures
one of the damns in the background
Check out the fish ladder just up from the river/reservoir...it is the longest fish ladder!  It went on for miles, surpassing all of the damns and reservoirs.

musical performance

Joshua's school had a musical performance and Joshua did great!  He was so excited.

there was some awesome cloudage going on that night

Instead of going out to get ice cream afterward, we opted to go home and make a delicious yogurt/fruit smoothie!
Mmm-mmm...saves money and it's much healthier!
24

24 weeks is roughly 6 months, right??  Anyway, I made it a goal to document this pregnancy better than Elsa's.

Am I any larger than last year?  Who knows...
I may be showing more, but as of my last prenatal appointment, my fundal height was measuring right on.  My weight is under control.  But I am super excited that my hair is getting long again!  I just need to go in and get it done soon.
soccer games

I was very brave and signed both of the boys up for soccer this year...I know, that's not a big deal to most people...but for me it is.  It was a GREAT idea!  They are both loving it and learning so much...and the extra exercise doesn't hurt either.

TOBY:
'Twas  a cold, rainy day so we sought shelter...

These pictures are from last week's game...this week, Toby scored his first GOAL!  Yay TOBY!!
Yay Team!  Yay Toby!

JOSHUA:

I truly think that Joshua is the player with the most improvement.  He choose to play and he is enjoying it.  I wish I would've had the option to put him in the lower age level though.  The age level that he is on, there are some BIG kids...I think it goes up to 10 years.  They are all really good.  I am also surprised that they still have the boys and the girls playing together...but in no way do I object!

The obligatory post-game hand slap

Joshua confessed, the thing he likes the best about soccer is getting treats at the end!
Well at least he told the truth!
(that's his catch phrase)

We saw another professional photographer there taking professional facebook pictures, so we thought we'd join in!
