Oswald Picnic-July 25

Brent's parents came into town and luckily Brent had a few days off work. Now, Brent's parents have lived in Oregon before, so they are familiar with the area, however we were able to sneak in a few surprises. Bruce and Jane (but Bruce especially) love the beach. And they wanted to have a picnic so we packed up the car and drove them out to see the incredible beauty that is Oswald West State Park. We had a picnic, went swimming (well, ok only I [kate] took the plunge. Everyone else just played in the waves), we hiked and played.
It was breath taking...they were looking at this:

Picnicking and Playing
It was a warm beautiful day, but after spending an hour boogie boarding, Kate was recovering from hypothermia.

Enjoying the beauty some more...

This is the view from the trail on the way back to the car. It is a little less than a mile of a hike, but extremely worth it. The forest is magical and this is by far my favorite beach area on the coast.

Joshua hid in a hallow of a tree and was trying to use the boogie board as the door.

Is that fireweed? I used to take pictures of those in Alaska, they are sooooo beautiful! By the way, how do you get your pictures in those little collages? I can't figure it out!

That door fits in perfectly, way to go. It looks like a beautiful place. I can see we need to go visit.
